Level of View



I was thinking of the view that you could see of the level. Before we had the mechanic fully set up I thought of a smaller view just above the player were you felt like you were controlling this individual were as a birds eye view would also be good but it would make you fell Iike the map is the main point and that your controlling a character in this setting. Since we have turn base birds eye works allot better so you can see the whole thing. Should the view be zoomed out enough to see the entire map at once(left picture) or should maps be made big enough were you can work within a section of it say the next pipe and then move on to it so you can still see allot of the area around you or make them little smaller so you can see the whole current level at once. I thinking makings the levels once the prototype level is tested making them large but not have the whole thing visible so the player can focus a little more on the current objective(right picture) and this way we can make the level bigger and not have to squint to see the player. If this doesn't make sense in writing ill explain Tuesday.
